This August, the grassroots are taking action to make sure only American citizens vote in American elections.
The House has already passed the SAVE Act, but that doesn’t mean the job is done. To become law, both chambers of Congress will need to include it in must-pass legislation this summer. And that won’t happen unless lawmakers feel real pressure from the people they represent.
Thats why we are collaborating with Tea Party Patriots Action to launch Only Citizens Vote Month in New York, a grassroots effort during August to ensure that the SAVE Act is finally passed by both the House and the Senate, and signed into law by President Trump.

What Is the SAVE Act?
The SAVE Act strengthens election integrity by requiring documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
This reform closes a major vulnerability in the current system: voter registration should not rely on unverifiable “trust me” paperwork when citizenship is the legal requirement to vote.
Under the SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility) Act, registering to vote for federal elections would require valid documentation such as:
- A U.S. passport
- A birth certificate
- Other lawful proof of citizenship
