Steve is tenacious in the face of a challenge and overcomes obstacles with careful consideration for the people he works with. He knows government and strategic planning, and in negotiating solutions in the halls of the legislature and Congress, on both sides of the aisle. Working in leadership of an election integrity organization, he has gained experience in New York election integrity strategy and in coordinating grassroots volunteer team efforts. Now, through careful research and previous experience, Steve is rolling out his new “common sense” initiative that will unify all New Yorkers and help restore confidence in New York candidates.
Previously, during the challenging financial crisis of 2008 through 2010. He used his real estate background to form an organization to address the foreclosure crisis. As Executive Director, he formed a team of real estate attorneys, mortgage bankers, and foreclosure prevention experts to develop a strategy to slow foreclosures and convinced Congress to authorize the $75 billion Making Homes Affordable Program (HAMP) employing the organization’s strategy. He is a published author in real estate industry publications such as Housing Wire and National Mortgage Review on the matter of foreclosure programs and prevention.
Steve is a natural leader and strategist. He was the Chief of his local fire department and a 9/11 first responder. He has also served honorably in the United States Air Force.
