Legislative Oversight for Election Integrity
Safeguarding our elections begins with sound legislation.
Project CIVICA monitors and educates the public on proposed laws in the New York State Legislature—with a focus on election integrity, transparency, and public accountability. We believe that every citizen, regardless of party affiliation, deserves confidence in the fairness and accuracy of our elections.
Too often, trust in the process is lost when our preferred candidates don’t win. But that’s not the real issue. The true concern is whether the system is secure, the laws are just, and the results reflect the will of the people. When elections are conducted under clear, enforceable laws that protect against fraud, error, or abuse, everyone wins—because the republic remains intact.
What We Do
Through our Legislative Oversight Initiative, we:
- Track and analyze election-related bills introduced at the state and national levels
- Partner with the Election Integrity Network to align state and federal efforts
- Create nonpartisan position papers explaining the impact of key legislation
- Organize calls to action—urging citizens to contact lawmakers by phone, email, or in person
- Support local advocates in meeting directly with their representatives
- Promote public awareness through traditional and social media
- Build leadership teams to oversee state-level efforts and coordinate with national partners
Why Your Voice Matters
Laws are written by those in office—but they can be shaped by an informed and active public. Whether it’s supporting a bill that strengthens voter ID requirements or opposing legislation that opens the door to confusion or manipulation, your voice—backed by a team—can change outcomes.
Legislative oversight isn't just for lawyers or lobbyists. It’s for concerned New Yorkers who want to protect their vote, hold officials accountable, and ensure that future generations inherit a system worthy of trust.
Join us. Be part of the team that watches the laws, speaks up when it matters, and works to protect freedom where it starts—the ballot box.
