NY State Call to Action
Oppose A03649/S01356 (ERIC Membership)
Contact your State Senator and Assembly Member to oppose A03649/S01356, which would make New York join a multi-state voter roll maintenance organization like the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC).
While we strongly support accurate voter rolls, ERIC has serious flaws, leading several states to withdraw due to:
-
Partisanship: ERIC’s founders have ties to left-leaning groups, and its registration efforts have disproportionately benefited Democrats.
-
Lack of Data Security: ERIC shares personal identifying information, including driver’s license and Social Security numbers, with an external entity.
-
Governance Issues: The organization refused to implement bipartisan-recommended reforms.
-
Ineffectiveness: Membership in ERIC failed to improve voter roll accuracy and, in some cases, made them worse.
We oppose sending our personal data to a partisan non-profit without oversight and wasting taxpayer dollars on an organization that has failed to deliver results. Election integrity should remain in the hands of local county boards, which are already responsible for maintaining accurate voter rolls.
